Do you know a colleague, client or company that deserves to be celebrated?

It is now possible to enter your submissions for the annual IADC Safety Award. Two awards will be given: one to a dredging organisation and a second to a supply chain organisation active in the dredging or offshore industry. This concerns subcontractors and suppliers of goods and services. Submissions for both categories must be entered by 31 May 2026.

“As IADC, we recognise that safety is a shared responsibility,” says Arnold de Bruijn, Secretary General of IADC. “Dredging contractors, suppliers and subcontractors play an essential role by bringing forward new ideas and technical solutions that elevate overall safety. With the IADC Safety Award, we aim to stimulate innovation, promote safety skills, and honour those making a real difference in workplace safety. The awards will continue to recognise the exceptional safety performance of a particular project, product, vessel, team or employee.”

Why a safety award?

Safety is always a top priority, and it is not a one-time effort. Constant vigilance requires innovation and good ideas should be recognised and publicised. These ideas are a contribution to the dredging industry. The IADC Safety Award seeks to:

  • stimulate ideas in the workplace;
  • encourage the development of safety skills on the job and safety awareness;
  • reward people and companies who make it possible to work safer; and
  • reward those who demonstrate special diligence in safety awareness in performing their profession.

Safety is key

Dredging operations are risky. Therefore, safety is a core value and top priority within the dredging industry, and it maintains a level of safety that can compete with the offshore oil and gas sector. IADC and its members are committed to safeguarding their employees, and to pursuing improvements in guaranteeing a safe and healthy work environment.

When are the winners announced?

In October 2026, the IADC Board of Directors will present the winners of the Safety Award 2026 at the IADC Annual General Meeting in Malta.
