Pauline van Rijn received her Masters in Prehistoric Archeology from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She is specialised in the research of archeological wood remains, and is presently on staff at the Dutch Center for Dendrochronology of the State Service of Archeology in Amersfoort, and freelance consultant for the Institute of Pre- and Protohistoric Archeology of the University of Amsterdam, several municipal archeological offices, and municipal and state musea.
