Menno Nagel received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1991 from the University of Arnhem, the Netherlands. He joint Van Oord in 2006. He is the tender manager at Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors. During the execution period of the Second Suez Canal project, Menno was responsible for the coordination of NMDC, Boskalis, Van Oord and Jan De Nul JV Board activities and secretary of the Board. Furthermore, he headed Van Oord’s Coordination Desk for the Suez Canal project and was on behalf of Van Oord, a member of the Technical Committee in the JV.

The New Suez Canal project was a titanic effort in logistics. Six global dredging contractors completed the works within one year and several records were broken during the execution of the project. The contractors disposed of more than 245 million m3 of sand in just nine months.
