Marnix Vandenberghe has 25 years of experience dealing with contract drafting and negotiation, third party claims and disputes under contracts. He holds a Master’s degree in Law and in Port and Maritime Sciences. He spent the first part of his career in the risk management and insurance industry, specialising in complex liability issues. He worked consecutively for a German corporate insurer, a leading terminal operator in the port of Antwerp and one of the big five consulting firms in Brussels. In 2002, he joined Jan De Nul where he worked mostly on overseas projects and headed the legal department from 2009 to 2014. He now lives in Central America where he works for Van Oord as regional counsel for the Americas. He was appointed by IADC to represent the dredging companies at the FIDIC task group updating the FIDIC Blue Book.
