Edward Van Melkebeek obtained his Master Degree in Civil Engineering (1996) and an additional Degree in Industrial Engineering (1997) from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. Thereafter, he joined the Jan De Nul Group of Companies in the international operations department. After gaining experience on several offshore projects, he became project manager on the CPC-Taiwan project. At the moment he is working with the Offshore Department in the headoffice of Jan De Nul in Aalst (Belgium).
