Derek Thornton s a distinguished military graduate from the Colorado School of Mines where he received his BSc in Engineering with a Civil Specialty. He is also a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course and Captain’s Career Course. Capt. Thornton is currently assigned to Galveston District, USACE serving as an Operations Manager for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
