The third issue of DFSI Magazine takes chapter 4 of the Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure book as its foundation and provides guidance on how to design sustainable infrastructure with added value.

We’re excited to share the latest issue of DFSI Magazine, which builds on Chapter 4 of the Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure book and explores how sustainability is assessed and managed in the design and execution of infrastructure projects.

The issue focuses on:

  • the importance of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and how they play a pivotal role in sustainable infrastructure;
  • global case studies, highlighting projects worldwide that demonstrate the evolving role of dredging companies in achieving sustainable projects; and
  • expert insights from Liesbeth Casier (IISD) and Jan Hoffmann (The World Bank) on what is needed beyond traditional EIA approaches to effectively measure sustainability and drive impactful change in port development projects.

Guest editor: René Kolman, former IADC Secretary General.

Published twice a year, the magazine features a lighter format than the Terra et Aqua journal, both in content and design, making topics more accessible and engaging for readers. Amid growing environmental awareness and increasing climate pressures, the DFSI Magazine investigates and explains the latest innovative methods in water infrastructure, demonstrating how value-added projects can be successfully achieved.

The winter edition offers valuable takeaways for professionals working on responsible infrastructure solutions and advancing the global sustainability agenda. Go explore the new issue and be inspired!
