Peter Whitehead graduated with BSc (Hons) in Geography in 1979. He then joined ABP Research & Consultancy Ltd as a technical assistant working on physical models of estuary and harbour developments. Since 1992 he has worked on dredging and siltation studies, and hydrodynamic and environmental assessments of port and harbour developments. He is presently Quality Assurance Manager and Principal Consultant at ABP Research with responsibility for dredging.
