Joint Secretary Rabindra Kumar Agarwal confirmed as keynote speaker at IADC Conference “Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure”

Mr. Rabindra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping confirmed to be a keynote speaker at the IADC Conference Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure Conference which will be held on 18 October 2019 in New Delhi, India. He will address the economic developments in India, related to the dredging industry with also the aspect of sustainability.

Rabindra Agarwal, in his role as a Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, has been assigned to the work of Sagarmala Programme and Ports Division within the Ministry of Shipping. The Sagarmala Programme aims to promote port-led development in the country and to modernize existing ports and develop new green-field ports, improve port connectivity to the hinterland and develop optimal multi-modal logistic solution to reduce the logistics cost, harness the potential of coastal shipping and achieve efficient cargo movement.

The work related to the Ports Division included the Management of 12 Major Ports and formulation of policies for the Port Sector in general, development of port capacity through PPP and non-PPP projects, port modernization projects, dredging, new ports and Ease of Doing Business Initiatives in the Port Sector under the Trading Across Border parameter and the development & operation of the Chahabar Port in Iran.
