The International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) received a “Highly commended” award during the DPC IHS Innovations Awards 2016.
IADC was given the commendation for its “Ecosystem Services: Towards Integrated Marine Infrastructure Project Assessments” report under the “Innovative Services to Dredging” category at a gala dinner and ceremony at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London on the 10th November 2016.
Secretary general of IADC, Rene Kolman received the commendation award. “I am honoured to receive this ‘Highly commended’ award on behalf of IADC for the Ecosystem Services report. IHS has done a great job in organising this event. I look forward to seeing more innovations in the dredging industry in the future,” he states.
IADC member companies also picked up awards -- DEME & Royal IHC for the “World’s first LNG-powered TSHDs” under the “Innovation in Dredger Design” category; and Royal Boskalis for “Ndeavor & Ndurance” under the “Innovation in Dredging Support Vessel” category. Jan De Nul picked up two prizes in two categories – “Innovation in Project Design - Open Water/ Oblique Coastal Dredging” and “Innovation in Project Design - Inland Dredging”.
The awards was organised by trade magazine, IHS Dredging & Port Construction. The inaugural DPC Innovation Awards is the first universal benchmark of quality within the dredging and port construction industry; the rigorous judging process involved companies from all over the world submitting their entries to be judged by elite industry experts.
