Joost van Wiechen obtained an MSc in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (2011). His thesis focussed on the Rhine ROFI (Region of Freshwater Influence) and was conducted at the Port of Rotterdam and Deltares. After graduation he joined the environmental engineering department of Van Oord, where he is part of the team that continues to apply OpenEarth to world-wide dredging projects.
