Ansar Khan is Regional Manager, Environmental Services, Ontario Region, in the Canadian Department of Public Works and Government Services. He presently manages federal environmental programmes in Ontario, including assessments and remediation of contaminated sites, dredging and other marine projects in the Canadian Great Lakes. Mr. Khan holds an MSc degree from the University of Hawaii, USA and a Master of Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. He is a founding member of the International Navigation Association’s (PIANC) Environment Commission (EnviCom) established in the 1990s and has participated in and headed work groups and task forces established by EnviCom. He is currently working on an environmental awareness training programme for developing countries on behalf of EnviCom and CoCom (Cooperation Commission of PIANC).
